A few podcasts I recently subscribed to won’t download on wifi because of SSL

I recently subscribed to Decoder Ring and Imaginary Worlds, neither of which will download on my home wifi, I always get the error:

AN SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the sercer cannot be made .

I have dozens of other podcasts that have worked well for years and I’ve never seen this error before. If I disconnect the wifi and use cellular data they download fine.

Since this began one other podcast The Always Sunny Podcast is doing the same thing. Last time I downloaded one of them (a month or so ago) it worked fine.

Any idea what the issue is?

  • Hi! Based on the error message you shared, there seems to be a network issue occurring.

Can you try restarting your router to see if it helps? Additionally, make sure that your network isn’t using a VPN or AdBlocker service.

I tried restarting my router before making the post, and I have no VPN or adblocking on my phone. It’s only happening for 3 of the 60+ shows I subscribe to.

Thanks for checking that! Can you share those 3 shows with us here? It maybe that they have a common podcast host that’s having issues we can check in on.
