Adverts when using Pockets Casts with Sonos

Hi,
I am in the UK and I have linked my Sonos system to Pocket Casts to play my saved podcasts. When I play the podcasts via the Sonos system I get US adverts. If I play the same podcasts just using the Pocket Casts app on my phone then I get the correct UK ads. Is this because of the way that Sonos is connecting to Pocket Casts?

I’m sorry to hear you’re getting adverts from different countries. I imagine it has to do with how your location (detected IP address) or the server connection is being identified by each device.
Pocket Casts does not insert advertisements into podcast episodes at all. If you’re hearing ads in podcast episodes those are added and fully controlled by the podcast creator, their host, and or any ad companies that they’ve partnered with. Typically this is done with Dynamic Ad Insertion. You can contact the specific podcast creator to find out how they insert ads.
You can also try reaching out to Sonos to find out if you need to change your device location setting, or if this is related to server connections.
