All Podcasts ‘Corrupted’ on New iPhone

Having a strange problem that only seems to occur under certain circumstances with my new iPhone 16 Pro Max. When listening using wired Apple EarPods (USB-C connector), podcasts often fail to play with message:
This episode might be corrupted, but you can try to play it again.
Strangely, if I unplug and then plug back in the EarPods, the episodes seem to play again (and the ‘corrupted’ message disappears after a few moments). Not sure, but may only occur after sleep timer expires?
Anyone experiencing similar or now how to resolve?

Well, I’ve had to move to Downcast because of this issue. If anyone from Pocket Casts wants to troubleshoot, I can reliably reproduce the issue.
