Android app playback of next item in playback list does not always start

Since a recent update to the android app (v 7.60.1 (09208) several times a day a podcast will get to the end and then be stuck displaying “0 left” in the “Up Next” Screen. The next podcast doesn’t then start. There is a soft fast clicking coming from the speakers (reminiscent of a record player when a record has finished and the arm hasn’t returned but much faster – record would need to be about 200rpm :-)) . If I click on the next podcast, it plays fine and the on which was stuck is moved into the second place still with 0 remaining. When it plays next time it immediately jumps to the next one and is removed from the now playing screen.

It seems like you’re experiencing an issue with the Pocket Casts Android app after a recent update. To address this problem where a podcast gets stuck displaying “0 left” in the “Up Next” screen, accompanied by a fast clicking sound, you can try updating Pocket Casts to the latest version?
We had a bug caused by an ExoPlayer update (from Android) which is causing problems when ‘Trim Silence’ is enabled. Updating Pocket Casts should fix the problem.

the version I am using and reported in my original post seems to be the latest version In the playstore updated 2 April. Is there some other version available?
