Android: why is app icon showing as a notification on Always on Display?

  On my Android’s Always on Display, I have it set up to show an icon for every notification that I get (such as Gmail displaying an icon when I receive an email).

  I don’t understand why the Pocket Casts icon shows up during podcast playback and also for 5-10 minutes after a podcast is done playing. I have notifications disabled for Pocket Casts. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  Hi, @writerdowner! I’m currently unable to replicate this on my test device, although I suspect your issue is specific to your particular phone’s settings.

  Can you please share which phone, OS version, and Pocket Casts version you’re using? Please also share screenshots of your Always on Display settings.

  In addition, if you have another media-playing app, do you notice if its icon also shows up during playback, even if you have notifications disabled for it?
