Anyone else notice they’ve been unsubscribed to several podcasts
-
Hello,
This seems like a weird thing to be asking but I’ve noticed I recently started to run out of podcasts to listen to and that struck me as odd because I subscribe to quite a few. Then when I go to my list of podcasts I noticed about half of them I’ve been unsubscribed to without me doing it. Is this happening to anyone else?
Thanks for any insights you can offer i’m scrolling back through my listen history to help identify all the ones that are missing and slowly re-adding them and downloading missed episodes. This is on a Google Pixel 10 Pro that I’ve had for half a year now and this only recently started in the past month or so.

I’m sorry to hear you’re running into this! It isn’t an issue we’ve seen much, but I suspect it could be a sync issue of some kind. Do you happen to use Pocket Casts on any other devices at all? If so, could you let us know the following?
- What other devices do you use Pocket Casts on?
- What version of Pocket Casts is installed on each?
- What operating system version are each running?
-
I currently only use it on my phone. In the past I did use a browser to listen as well but that was a long time ago with a different phone.

@joepotthast thank you for sharing those details!
I’ve enabled additional logging on your account to help us with troubleshooting in case this issue occurs again. Please let us know if you notice anything amiss with the podcasts that you’re following. We can dig into the logs at that point to see what might have caused the issue.

That sounds good i’ll dive into this and let you know if I notice anything. Thanks for the help.

So I found one that I missed was the cordkillers podcast which I used to be subscribed to then wasn’t. https://pca.st/podcast/216e7870-4a88-0131-8295-723c91aeae46
When I resubscribed it shows me all the episodes after January 22, 2026 which I think is about the time this mass unsubscribing probably happened.
-
I checked the logs and could not find anything about that show. When the issue happen again, could you immediately let us know here?
-
Thanks Dexter I figured that would be the case and as disluck has it I did find two that I had been unsubscribed to, then resubscribed when I found this problem, and have this morning found I have again been unsubscribed/unfollowed. They are:
https://pca.st/podcast/aa70d200-0bc5-012e-fb02-00163e1b201c
And:
https://pca.st/podcast/a99b0fd0-42b0-0133-bf96-0d11918ab357
On the core one there were two episodes the earlier one being February 22, 2026 so the unsubscribe event may was probably just before that.
-
@joepotthast the logging wasn’t enabled on your account until February 24, so the Core podcast issue wouldn’t be included in the account logs. Was Film Sack likely unsubscribed after that point or was that one likely before February 24 as well?
-
Drat, I’ll keep checking and updating here if I find anything. As I said before thanks for your help with this I greatly appreciate your help with it.

@joepotthast you’re very welcome! And yes, please let us know if you notice any changes in your follows!

Hello, all. I would like to add that I have a very similar problem.
Issue: The Trophy Room podcast becomes not “followed” without user input.
When: Moments/Minutes after being set as “followed”. Seems to have started immediately after I followed a Patreon feed for the same creators that is not the same as the problem feed. I did unfollow the problem feed at that time due to my misunderstanding that it was the same feed. I then followed the main feed again and thought nothing of it. This happened a couple/few months ago, but I only recently noticed that I wasn’t hearing the show. (Sorry Trophy Room Trio! I was on busy-time autopilot…)
Where: Web App (Chrome/Win11), Android (Pixel 10 Pro), Windows App (Win11)
Notes: I have gone through the usual Android app troubleshooting of follow/unfollow/follow, sign-out/in, force refreshes, force quit app, clear app cache/storage, uninstall/install, reboot phone, etc. I have since also done explicit testing of sync issues via Web/Win11/Android apps. I would search for and follow on one app then refresh one or both of the others to see the successful follow. Mere moments later (sometimes less than one minute), a refresh on any one of the apps would show the feed as not followed. Sync does seem to work as expected except that the show follow status does not stick as followed. The action of being not followed removes downloaded episodes. I only listen to downloaded episodes in my Lists so I never hear the show unless I listen immediately as I download it after following. The vast majority of my listening is via the Android app away from WiFi, downloads only, download only on WiFi.Thank you for reading and considering all of this. I very much appreciate Pocket Casts as my only and years-longstanding podcast catcher. Proud to be a Legacy Pocket Casts Plus member. Keep up the great work, hopefully this is an easy fix.

Hi, @notsocialsavant! Thanks so much for the detailed report and all the testing you’ve already done — that’s really helpful. Next, please make sure you’re logged into the same Pocket Casts account on all devices, then unfollow both the main Trophy Room feed and the Patreon/private feed everywhere, sign out of Pocket Casts on all devices, and then sign back in on just one device (for example your Android phone). On that one device, follow the main Trophy Room feed again, wait a couple of minutes, refresh, and see if it stays followed before signing back in on your other devices one by one.
If the podcast still keeps unfollowing itself after that, please contact us via the app: Profile > Help & feedback > Contact Support > Get Support. -
Thank you for the prompt help, eleanor!
We have success! The one last obvious turn it off and on again trick that I didn’t try worked. I had already unfollowed both of the feeds earlier, but it seems that logging out of ALL devices/services then logging back in to one was the fix. The main feed is still there one hour later and also shows up in the other services when I log in to them. Thank you for your help and thank your colleagues for the best podcast app ever.

@notsocialsavant Nice! Appreciate you reporting back with what worked for you too.
Sometimes this kind of issue, or a sync issue in general, can happen after the email address or password was changed on the account without logging out of all devices and logging back in with the new credentials.
I’m not sure if this is what happened in this case, but that is definitely worth checking for anyone else who might run into a similar issue in the future.
