App No Longer Launching on iOS
-
Hi,
I used the app yesterday, and I woke up this morning to listen to a podcast. My app crashed the moment I tried to open it. Assuming it might be some bad data, I deleted the app and re-downloaded it from the App Store. I got the same issue, although the first time I tried to open it after re-downloading I got the following message in a standard iOS dialog: “Cannot Connect to App Store” “The request to open ‘au.com.shiftyjelly.podcasts’ failed.” I cannot upload a screenshot here but if it would be helpful I could upload it to Google Drive or something and send a link to it here.

@jacksonzamorano We definitely want to look into this for you. Can you let us know which OS version you’re using on your device? You can usually find this from your phone’s Settings.
I’m interested in seeing if there was an OS update prior to the issue occurring in the app.

I am using iOS 18.1 on an iPhone 15 pro max. It didn’t do an overnight update, I’ve been running 18.1 since it was released in October. If it would help, I could attempt to download it on my iPad running the 18.2 beta?

Hi @jacksonzamorano,
While we haven’t seen widespread reports of this specific crash on iOS 18.1, we’d like to help you troubleshoot the issue on your device.
Can you try restarting your iPhone?
Also, let us know the version of Pocket Casts you’re using.

I am using version 7.76.1, a restart fixed it. Can’t believe I didn’t think of doing that. Thank you!
