Apple Watch App Getting Worse?

    Since iOS18 launched, the Apple Watch app doesn’t auto start when playing podcasts from the phone.

    Also, when you launch the app on the phone, it’s always playing catch up and is really lagging – going through podcasts that I’ve already listened to until it lands on the current one playing. Additionally, controlling the app from the Watch is not as responsive as it used to be.

    How do I get the app to auto launch on my watch like it used to do? And are there any updates expected to fix the Watch app?

    Currently running iOS 18.0.1, WatchOS 11.0.1 and Pocket Casts 7.74.1.

    This looks like it has all been sorted! App launches automatically when a podcast is played and there doesn’t seem to be any lag now! Thank you!

    FYI, running iOS 18.1, WatchOS 11.1 and Pocket Casts 7.75

    I suspect the latest release of iOS 18.1 (which came out of beta now) may have helped.
