Artwork episode

Hi, is there any update on when we will be able to see the Artwork episodes in the list of all the new episodes that have been released even if we haven’t played them yet? Following on from the many posts on this topic that have already been written here on the forum.

Hi there! I checked on this and confirmed that you can view the episode artwork before playing the episode when using the Android app. You can activate the settings at Profile > Settings (gear icon) > Appearance > Use episode artwork and Advanced episode artwork settings.
We don’t have an update on when that will be added to iOS or other versions of the app yet.

I meant the artwork that appears in Filter > New Releases automatically like in other apps.
There are other posts about it that have been written over time. That’s what I meant.

Are you referring to the episode-specific artwork that is not embedded, but listed in RSS? https://forums.pocketcasts.com/forums/topic/episode-art-for-all-shows/?view=all#post-1262
If you’re referring to something else, would you share that forum thread?
Alternatively, would you share a screenshot to describe what you’re referring to?

I ran some tests and the episode artwork is working correctly for me in Pocket Casts, even on the filters page.
Some episodes for podcasts like Global News Podcast do not have episode artwork for every episode. To ensure the episode artwork is working, you can go to Settings > Appearance > Podcast Artwork > Advanced episode artwork settings > then ensure that Use Episode Artwork is toggled on and under ‘customization’ ensure that Filters is checked.

I tried doing it as you wrote, everything seems to be set up correctly, but it still doesn’t work properly.

Hi team. I can also confirm what @yonigrady mentioned. I too have the settings ticked correctly. However I cannot always see the episode artwork. Although it does seem to change after I take some sort of action. By action (from memory) i think that when i click on the actual episode, then it seems to kick in and refresh to show the actual episode artwork. I will keep a check over the next few days to be sure I’ve remembered correctly and report back. Perhaps the ”Refresh all artwork” needs to be clicked periodically. However, if you click on the ”Podcast Show” it never shows me the episode artwork unless I take an action, so DOAC for example, if I’m looking at its show listing, it’s just the generic artwork, until I actually click into an episode, then it seems to wake up and gradually refresh the episode art work.
So I would suspect it’s some sort of a refresh issue. I’m in the UK using an Samsung Android in case that makes a difference. Thanks Indy

I’ve just re-read my message and I think I wasn’t 100% clear, sorry. By action on the filters, listening history, downloads, upnext etc, by action it can be absolutely any action (including auto actions) such as playing any track in the up next, or auto add to upnext, auto download. However on the “Podcast Show”, I have to MANUALLY take an action, so I have to physically click the episode before it wakes up. Hope that makes more sense 😕

I agree with the suggestion. It’s a shame that you can’t see the individual cover artworks in various views (even when the option is enabled). PocketCast definitely needs to improve this.

@staff-joey8 I have always activated this option. But unfortunately inside of my filters I just see the episode artwork. Here is one example. Look for the Podcast Apokalypse & Filterkaffee with the episode „Heimspiel: xxxxx“

furthermore I think it would be nice to see the artwork although when I just see the episode list inside of a podcast that I did not subscribed to. Maybe you can add this for a future relase?
