Auto add to up next is full of bugs

    it’s driving me batty as it’s the feature I rely on the most. I’m using pocketcast on an iPhone 15 pro max running iOS 18.

    First it’s always adding episodes I’ve listened to previously or that I’ve previously archived (no, they weren’t just republished). At the same time it forgets to add others – I’ll go to a podcast and see there are 2 or 3 unlistened episodes while my up next is empty.

    adding new podcasts to the auto up next feature is a pain too. Here’s the process:

    I go through the checklist find the unchecked one, check it so that now all of the boxes are checked.

    I then go back to the previous page and… see that only the *new* podcast is now in the list and all the others have gone. Go back to the checklist and now everything is unchecked *except* the new one. Uncheck that then carefully check every single one manually, save it, go back to the previous page to make sure all the podcasts are in there now.

    They are. Good.

    Now go through them all to determine which go to the top of the list vs the bottom.

    Finally everything seems to be right but if you want to add another podcast then you go through it all again (I’ve done it at least a dozen times so far).

    this sucks and makes me miss the old Overcast even more

  • Based on your description, it seems like there might be a configuration issue with your Auto Add to Up Next settings. Here are some things to check:

    • Auto Add Limit: Ensure your limit is set high enough to accommodate the number of episodes you want to add.
    • If Limit Reached: Review this setting to make sure it aligns with your desired behavior.

    To access and adjust these settings, go to Profile > Settings (gear icon) > Auto Add to Up Next.

    I have this issue as well. I have my limit set to 1000 and it is nowhere close to that. also have it it set to add anyway.

  • Could you send app logs along to us? This may be helpful when investigating the issue with the Up Next queue. You can send app logs by reaching out to us through the app — Profile > Help & Feedback > Get in touch.
