Auto download went bananas
-
At some point the auto-download feature started ignoring the configured limit on number of downloaded episodes. I thought OK, never mind, not a big deal. After a while I just turned off auto download for that podcast.
Then I noticed it was still auto-downloading, even though the podcast was definitely set with auto-download off. I fiddled with the settings some more, and made sure auto-download was turned off in the main application settings.
Today I discovered that it has started auto-downloading every podcast. I’ve tried turning auto-download on globally, quitting the app, going back in, and turning it off again. We’ll see what happens when some podcasts update.
This is on iOS. I’m curious whether anyone else has seen this problem.

@metamatic Can you let us know the following to help us replicate the issue?
- The OS version on your device – you can usually find this from your phone’s Settings
- Your Pocket Casts app version – you can see this from the Pocket Casts app’s Profile > Settings (gear icon) > About

Looking at new episodes this morning, it seems that turning auto download on, exiting the app, then turning it off again has fixed the problem. I’ll post if it recurs, but if anyone else has the issue and finds this post, that’s something to try.
