Automatically re-attempt failed downloads
-
The auto-download and auto-add-to-playlist features are among my favorites as they allow a set-and-forget approach for podcasts where I want to listen to all episodes. However, if an episode download fails, I’m neither notified, nor is the download attempted again.
Therefore I’d like to request an option where I can set whether I want that failed downloads are retried.
I’d say it could be an additional option after enabling auto-download, where I could set a failed download to be re-attempted, with maybe setting a limit on the number of retries, and potentially the frequency of the attempts (e.g. every 5/10/30/60 minutes, etc).
Additionally, could you please add a feature where the app posts a notification that a download has failed. This notification could also include whether auto-retry is enabled or not, and if yes, when the next attempt is and how many attempts are left before giving up.
Thanks!

What really bothers me is that there is no way to retry a failed download once an episode has been added to the playlist. Neither in the download list nor in the normal filtered list am I able to restart a failed download. I have to remove the file from my playlist and add it again to trigger a new download. If for some reason (bad connection) a lot of download failed this is a lot of work. It would be nice to have the ability in the download list to re-download single episodes and to restart all failed downloads via the top right menu.

An option to retry all failed downloads could certainly be useful, I’ll forward this along to the team!
As for retrying individual episodes, you can tap on an episode in a list to view it’s details, if the episode isn’t downloaded, you should see a download icon and the file size to the left of the large play button. You can use this to retry the download for that episode.
