+1 to this. Even if the “Up Next” feature is popular, there have to be plenty of users who are not interested in having episodes play automatically beyond the one they’ve currently selected. It is very un-user-friendly to tell people they need to use the sleep timer *every single time* they select an episode if they don’t want their “Up Next” list to continue autmatically. Like an earlier user said…in YouTube, Netflix, and many other media platforms, developers assume that not all users want media to continue playing other than the particular item the user has selected. No one should have to repeatedly clear an app-imposed “Up Next” list in order to avoid playing episodes they didn’t choose to play. Just make a button that disables the “Up Next” list. Done. Don’t force it on us. This should be a basic universal feature already, not one you make us ask for.

Telling users they should repeatedly clear their “Up Next” list, or select “Sleep Timer,” “Mark as Played,” and/or “Archive” every time they play an episode in order to avoid playing other episodes they didn’t choose to play…these aren’t appropriate responses from Pocket Casts. I’m already aware I can do these things, but they are not appropriate solutions to a problem that should not exist.
