BMW ID9 Not Synching with iPhone

I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max and a 2025 BMW X3. Latest versions of software in both items. Really struggling to sync both the played position and Up Next list when in the car. If I go from the car to the phone, PC sync’s within a second or two. If I go from the phone to the car, nothing much seems to happen.
Paying for premium.
What am I doing wrong?
