bookmark episodes for later listening

in my previous podcast app I used to mark episodes for future listening at my own discretion. I thought the up next feature in pocket casts would replace that for me and so started adding episodes to that list. but then found out it automatically starts playing this list whenever I finish listening to a podcast, and I totally don’t want that. so I erased everything in the up next list, and can’t find a way to bookmark interesting episodes to pick up from when I decide to. am I missing something? thanks

Great question! It sounds like you may want to try our Bookmarks feature, which is available with Pocket Casts Plus.
Bookmarks let you save important moments or episodes for later, and you can access them across all your devices. This should allow you to keep track of episodes you want to revisit without having them automatically play in your Up Next queue.

The bookmark features is great, plus you can also use the ‘Star’ function to save epiodes for later.

thanks for the suggestions. bookmarks is a possibility, but it’s designed to mark a specific moment inside an episode, so not so easy/quick to bookmark. plus, to see the bookmarks list you have to first open your profile.
the “star” option is better. easier to star an episode. but to playing back you again have to open your profile, and the list is unsortable. I tried creating a filter, but it somehow doesn’t show all my starred episodes.
anyhow, I have starred episodes that I have *already* listened to and wanted to, well, “star” for whatever reason (to recommend etc).
so, still missing a “mark for future listening” feature. cheers

@martinmagal This is because filters only work with episodes from podcasts or shows that you are subscribed to.
If you want to see all of the episodes you have starred, regardless of their subscription status, you can go to Profile > Starred.

Instead of creating a new feature request for you, I see that we have an existing one for turning off automatic playback in the Up Next queue. Since that one has a good number of votes already, would you like us to add your vote there? Or would you prefer that we still create a brand new feature request?

We have an internal feature request list and I have added your vote on your behalf. I assume you meant that you are okay with adding your vote to the existing one for turning off automatic playback in the Up Next queue, but let me know if I misunderstood.
