I suggested this feature in the r/pocketcasts subreddit, Github forum, and the app feedback looking for tracktion. Here’s my suggestion:
Bookmarks, notes, and sharing
What problem does this address? I listen to hours of podcasts a day, most of the time to learn things. I wish I had a way to keep track of some of the things I’ve learned and to be able to find them again in the future for myself and to share it with others.
What is your proposed solution?
Fundamental: Being able to bookmark different parts of a podcast and add notes would allow me to keep track of the various pieces of information I learn from podcasts.
Nice to have:Bookmarks have start and stop times which would allow for future clip exporting. Also, sharing a bookmark could mean a link to the episode with the respective start time. Finally, being able to export bookmarks/notes in various formats, creating an RSS feed of you’re bookmarks, or use something like IFTTT to handle bookmark information and use it in any way that IFTTT can.
The app feedback told me “I’ve added a feature request for this for you. For context, we consider features to add based on the number of requests we receive for them. So, the more users request a feature, the higher the chances it gets built.”
[I asked where is the best place to submit feedback]
“At the moment, we’re collecting feature requests internally. So, users like you can suggest features by reaching out to us from the apps:
In the mobile apps: Profile > Settings > Help & Feedback > Get in touch
In the web and desktop apps: Profile > Settings > Help > Send Feedback”

That’s a great idea, and I have also added it to our feature request report so that our developers can consider this.
Ultimately, this will be prioritised if other users request it too – so if you know other Pocket Casts users who would benefit from it, please ask them to request this feature too!

Would love to see this with some extras I’ve come to enjoy from a different podcast app. I’d pay more for these at PocketCasts level quality:
- Automatic transcription that are referenced in the bookmark location/notes.
- Readwise sync of notes.

Bookmarks are great thanks, now we need to export them to whatever Notion, Evernote we might be using.
(Bonus points: AI-powered autotranscription like 10 seconds before hitting the bookmark button and 30 sec after would be the top)

The bookmark feature was added but are there any plans for the rest of the feature requests on this thread? Particularly the option to take notes and ability to export them? Ideally to readwise.

We log every feature requests made here, including the note-taking and exporting features. We don’t have immediate plans to implement them at the moment, but we have forwarded them to our team!
