buffered podcasts skip forward / back
-
I’m on a pixel 6a running android 15, and have been using pocket casts on android for close to 10 years.
I stream the large majority of my podcasts. Recently, when playing a buffered stream, pocket casts will often play audio that is forward/backward of the timestamp of my current stream. The player keeps the same time, but the audio will be a few seconds to a few minutes before or after the audio that should be present at that time. Scrubbing back to before the skip gives exactly the same result, audio skips at exactly the same timestamp/audio to exactly the same place.
this is really frustrating, and has resulted in me reaching for other apps/web streams for my podcasts. I can download a podcast to get a consistent experience, but I live in an area with reliable internet connection and streaming is much more convenient
is this a known issue? Is there any fix or workaround? I’ve been a dedicated user for years and don’t want to jump ship over this, but losing parts of podcasts is unacceptable and I will have to go elsewhere if I can’t fix this

That’s certainly unexpected! And we’d be happy to help troubleshoot, but will likely need to dig into app logs. Could you reach out to us through the app? You can do so by navigating to Profile > Help & Feedback > Get in touch.
You may receive an automatic response with suggestions from our documentation, but you can reply to that message to escalate it to our team directly.
