Bug? Podcast episode share page doesn’t play in Chrome

  Pocket Casts share episode pages for Science for the People won’t play in Chrome (Mac and Android). Clicking the play button doesn’t do anything. Sharing episodes of other podcasts usually works, so it might just be this specific show.

  I’ve tried deleting cookies/site data and disabling extensions, but the problem persists. Here’s a video of the issue on Chrome for Mac 114.0.5735.90 (Official Build) (arm64):

  Hi @bikrrr 👋

  Thanks for bringing this to our attention! I had a look in our system, and noticed our parsers were blocked from communicating with the podcast server. I’ve reached out to the podcast author requested them to add the following URLs to the allowlist:

  • crawler1.pocketcasts.com
  • crawler2.pocketcasts.com

  Hopefully, they were able to get them added to get the feed working again in our app.
