Can no longer play episodes correctly/at all

    I’ve been using this app without major issue for a few weeks. This morning, after it had been working, it has entirely stopped playing any episodes. The play button is not interactive.

    I have tried:

    1. clearing my cache. Did not resolve
    2. clearing my data. This left the podcast empty, rip; apparently my data is all . I attempted reimporting my opml file, but it did not show any results.
    3. checking out some available podcast in the Discovery tab. I can view the listing of popular podcasts, but when I select a podcast the app is unable to load the podcast page.
    4. restarting the phone.
    5. reinstalling the app. This loaded an archive a few days old of my subscriptions and listening queue, hooray! But, episodes still aren’t playing, and I still can’t get to podcast pages on the Discovery tab.
    6. While writing this up, a podcast episode finally started playing after several minutes of silence! It was not the most recent one I tried. Now when I try to play a podcast, sometimes it immediately plays that first successful episode (ie the wrong episode) or it finally loads after several minutes of apparent inactivity, or it does nothing.

    App is functionally down for me; help!

    I was just coming here to post the exact same thing. Having the exact same problem and tried all the same solutions.

    Oh, there’s a new fourth terrible behavior: minutes after attempting to start an episode, it will finally load…a different episode.

    Note when it loads a wrong episode, the app displays that it is playing the episode I intended. It’s just loaded the wrong audio.

  • Hi! We’d like to investigate this. Please let us know the following:

    • Are you streaming the episodes or have you downloaded the episodes that are playing when the issue happens?
    • Are you using a Bluetooth device when the issue happens? 
    • If you’re using Bluetooth when the issue happens, does it repeat when you’re not using it?
