Can’t Disable Auto-Archive on Podcast

    I disabled auto-archive in the Settings by choosing the option ‘Never.’ Still, after listening to an episode, it is auto-archived. I have also turned off auto-archive from the settings of the particular podcast/channel, yet the episodes auto-archive after I listen to them. I downloaded these episodes and they are deleted each them they auto-archive and that’s really bad.

    Hi there! Do you happen to use Pocket Casts on a second device where auto-archive might be switched on still? While the setting itself doesn’t sync between devices, the archived states of episodes do.

    If not, could you please share a screenshot of your global auto-archive settings page so that we can see if we spot anything out of the ordinary? Thanks!

    Below are the global auto-archive settings.

    Archive played episodes: Never

    Archive inactive episodes: Never

    Include starred episodes: Turned off

    If this is happening to this specific podcast, can you please try unsubscribing to the podcast and subscribe again?

    Also, can you please confirm if you’re using Pocket Casts on more than one device?

    I’m having the same issue. Every downloaded podcast gets auto-archived despite the setting.

    iOS 16.5.1 (20F75)

    Pocket Casts 7.47 (7.47.0.4)

    Hi @yguy14159, I performed another test in the app (version 7.48), and I couldn’t reproduce the issue.

    Can you please update the app to the latest version and double-check if you don’t have a custom archive settings for the podcast?

    The problem seems to have disappeared, though I think that may have happened before the update…

    …speaking of which, it did not appear in my App Store list of available updates. I had to search for it like it was a first time download, and the blue button read “open” and then almost immediately switched to “update”. Go figure.

    I am glad to hear that the issue is sorted. At times, the App Store does not refresh the list of available updates, so by manually opening the Pocket Casts page, it seems to have forced it to notice the update.
