Changing speed on android stops playback

Starting a couple weeks ago when I change the playback speed of while an episode is playing the sound changes either to a faint high pitched noise or silence while the play bar advances. The only way to fix is force stop the app.

i tried clearing the apps cache and it seems to be fixed for most podcasts. The one podcast where this happens consistently is syntax.fm and it looks like if I pause, and start playback on an episode from a different podcast then I can switch back to the same episode and it will start playback again.

We’d like to investigate! Can you let us know which version of the Android app you’re using and some examples of speed changes you’re making? I tried speeding playback settings up and down while listening to Episode 755 of Syntax.fm and couldn’t get a whine, silence, or other noise to repeat for me. Any other details you can share would be appreciated
