Disable episode artwork?
-
Just in the last few days my podcasts have started showing episode artwork after not having them for the past year or so that I’ve been using Pocket Casts. I’m sure a lot of people appreciate that, but I am not one of them. I just want the main podcast artwork. Is there any way to revert back to that? I already have “Use embedded podcast artwork” disabled.
Thanks!

Hi, @mb7e844df629. Thanks for the question and the feedback.

Unfortunately, there’s no option for that in the app at the moment. We added your suggestion to our issue tracker here if you’re interested in following it.

I know I’m probably in the vast minority, so I appreciate the effort.
@mb7e844df629 And we appreciate your feedback all the same!
For context, you are most likely seeing episode-specific artwork that is specified by podcast authors in their feeds.
However, the “Use embedded podcast artwork” setting you have disabled under Profile > Settings icon > Appearance only affects episode-specific artwork that is embedded into an episode’s source file.
So, our developers are currently looking at implementing a setting so you can also disable episode-specific artwork from feeds and we appreciate your patience while we work on that. -
I’m in the same boat. I have been distraught for the past couple of months since both my widget and media player controls started showing episode-specific artwork. I would much prefer to see the main podcast artwork as I used to. I also tried changing the “Use embedded podcast artwork” option, not understanding that this new artwork was coming from the podcast feed and not from the episode source file. Would be great to gave a solution for this. In the end, whether it comes from the episode source file or from the feed, I would kind of expect that option to use the main podcast feed art.

We have added an option via the Appearance settings to also disable RSS Feed artwork. You would need to use version 7.59 of Pocket Casts to see this feature.
