DIsappearing podcasts on Web App
-
When I clock on a square for a podcast on the Web app, it sometimes disappears. It sometimes opens, showing me episodes, but then disappears when I return to the main screen. And sometimes it properly remains in place. I can’t see any pattern of when it remains or disappears. What’s the fix?
-
That’s certainly unexpected! Could you let us know what web browser version you’re using when this occurs? And could you also let us know when web player version number you see when navigating to the profile icon > Settings > About?
-
I’m using version 4.5.6 in Firefox 132.0.1 in MacOS Sequoia.
I wonder if it might have to do with where in the podcast series icon I’m clicking. Are there different zones, in a way that’s not visible?

@josephzitt, I’ll be emailing you for more information. Please keep an eye out for my email!

Been having that issue as well it sounds. I’ve noticed when I quickly tap my touchpad is when the squares move to the very end of my sorting order, but if I actually click the touchpad it opens regularly and stays in my sorting order as usual.
-
Ah, I hadn’t scrolled down to the end to see if they jump there. But I can’t imagine why they would be designed to act like that.
-
@josephzitt yeah it popped in my mind to check there just thinking about how the android app works; most recent episode gets marked as read and the pod tile moves back down… And as I’m typing this, @staff-cara, I am noticing (and forgot to mention yesterday) that it’s changing the sort order from Release Date to Drag and Drop when that happens. For me, it’s the pressure on the touchpad on my laptop that determines if it’s going to open the podcast or just change the sort order.

Hi @josephzitt – we’ve reached out via email associated with your forum account here to get more information from you privately. Please check your email so we can continue investigating there!
Hi @zoxflowers – Are you seeing this issue on the web app as well? If so, would you also let us know what web browser version you’re using, and the web player version number you see when navigating to the profile icon > Settings > About?
-
@staff-bluejay yes it is happening on both the desktop and web apps. I am on Chrome version 131.0.6778.70 and web player version 4.5.7 (Desktop version 2.0.8 Windows)
-
@zoxflowers We haven’t heard back from @josephzitt since I emailed them asking for more information, so I hope you don’t mind if I reach out to you too so we can get more details to help us with our investigation.

Ii haven’t gotten the screen recording to work yet on my Mac. Also, and most maddening, the behavior isn’t consistent, so it only sometimes happens when I expect it to.
-
I also see that I’m facing the bug that others have mentioned: the slightest wiggle of an icon throws the sort into Drag and Drop mode rather than what it had been. Is it possible to fix this, or at least make it a selectable option (off by default) for people who for whatever crazy reason might want it to do that?

I’ve forwarded that feedback along to our developers. I can’t offer an estimated timeframe or confirm that this change will be implemented, but hopefully they will consider it soon!

I can certainly understand the frustration with this. If you do manage to get a screen recording it, though, please send it our way.
