Displaying chapters and chapter images on Desktop

Hey all,
the feature list of PocketCasts says “Chapter Support: Jump straight to the topic you’re most interested in and revel in the custom chapter artwork to match.”
It then goes on to say that PocketCasts is available on a number of platforms, though a select few are only accessible through PocketCasts Plus. Among those are the Windows app and the WebPlayer. The issue I am experiencing is that on those platforms there seems to be no support for chapter artwork or even chapters in general. Did I forget to tick a setting (if so, where is it), is the website outdated or what is going on there?
App Platform and Version: Pocket Casts Desktop, 3.6.0. However, the “About” section shows this as “Web Player”, so I assume the Windows app is merely a wrapper around the Web Player. Also tested with Web Player directly.
Device model: Windows App, Firefox, Chrome, all tested -

Good question! At the moment, Chapters support is only available on our Mobile Apps and the macOS app.
We aren’t able to display chapters just yet for the Web Player and the Windows App, mainly because most podcast audio files are CORS protected. We are still investigating workarounds, though, in case this can be implemented in the future :)
I’ll go ahead and mark this thread as resolved, but feel free to make a new thread if anything else comes up!

Thanks for the reply.
I would humbly ask you to update your description or add a support article for this, because nothing on the website indicates that this feature is unavailable on certain platforms (and I looked for quite a while!).We aren’t able to display chapters just yet for the Web Player and the Windows App, mainly because most podcast audio files are CORS protected.
Oh, that is very interesting to know, thank you!

We’re happy to update this – I ran some checks but did not see any mention of support for this on our Support Site for the Web Player.
We’ll look into adding an article mentioning this 👍

Yeah, a support article like “This is not supported” would help a lot!
I was referring to this page which lists a bunch of features and platforms, but does not give any indications that some features are limited to certain platforms. The limitation is fine, but it would be good to see which feature is supported on which platform! :)
