download files so I can upload them to the cloud or upload files directly

I have about 21 episodes of a podcast which is no longer hosted by podbean on my old phone. The person who did the podcast passed away – and I do not know how I can move these episodes to my new phone. I knew them and occasionally like to listen to the old episodes. I have tried the cloud subscription, but since the show is no longer hosted I think the service is pulling nothing from the host and may not be set up to grab files from my phone storage. I have tried to use the help solution:
- Go to Pocket Casts > Downloads, and click on one of the episodes.
- Press the Share Button on the top right
- Select “Open File in…”
- Click “Save to files”
- Give the file a name and save it in the folder you want
however, the option for save to files seems to pull up only things like email, messaging, whatsapp, and so on.
I would really like to preserve the meta information if possible. Is there any way I can move the files and meta info to my new phone or to the cloud?
I am open to copy the files somehow, but i don’t know the best way to do that. or any other suggestions. I am willing to try just about anything. I can used Fedora to a degree, and I can use windows pretty well too.

Hi! If you’re a Pocket Casts Plus subscriber, you can upload your files to cloud storage. For more information, see this article:

If that’s not an option for you, you’ll need to restore a backup from your previous phone onto the new one. In general, this works like this:
- on iOS, you should be prompted to tap your old phone against your new phone to automatically copy everything over
- on Android, you need to use a service like Google Backup or a similar one that might be provided by your manufacturer (eg: Samsung, etc)
