Downloads not being deleted when episode removed from queue
-
I’m running into this weird edge case.
- Auto download is turned on for episodes added to the play next queue
- Add a random episode to the queue (either from discovery or friend sharing an episode)
- Either never get to it or play it through partially and then swipe to remove it from the queue.
This is causing the episode to remain downloaded to the device, but does not show up in any filters and does not show up in the podcasts list. You have to look for it in the downloads section.
Of course opening the episode and archiving it instead of just deleting it, is a workaround.
Just seems strange to have an episode from a podcast that I don’t subscribe to, have no intention to listening to in the future, and does not show up podcasts or any filters still have the downloaded file on the device

Yep, same issue. When you do it from the queue, it just removes it from “Up Next”. It’s part of their weird archive instead of deleting thing they do for some uknown reason. See this:

In sum, swiping from the Up Next queue does not archive (and subsequently delete the download of) an episode. It only removes the episode from the queue.
That said, I have filed a feature request on your behalf for swiping in the Up Next queue to archive an episode.
