Enhancing Podcast Experience with Live Transcripts and Interactive Navigation

Dear Pocket Casts Team,
I’d like to propose a feature idea that I believe could greatly enhance the podcast listening experience in your app.
While many music apps like Spotify, TIDAL, and Deezer offer either live lyrics or lyrical transcripts for songs, I haven’t seen a similar feature for podcasts.
I wanted to suggest that Pocket Casts consider adding a feature that generates either a regular Transcript of a podcast episode or a Live Transcript that allows users to click on different parts of the transcript and jump to that section of the episode.
Here’s why this could be valuable:
1. Accessibility: Live transcripts could significantly improve the accessibility of podcast content for individuals who are hearing impaired or prefer reading the content. 2. Improved Understanding: It would aid in better comprehension of complex podcast topics, as users can navigate directly to the parts they want to revisit or explore further. 3. Enhanced User Experience: This feature would set Pocket Casts apart by providing a unique and innovative way to interact with podcast episodes.I hope you’ll consider this idea as a means to make Pocket Casts an even more inclusive and user-friendly platform for podcast enthusiasts. Or was there a specific feature related to transcripts that you’d still like to see implemented?

@mikerockwell Sorry I should have been more specific. I was reacting to “Live Transcripts and Interactive Navigation”. Being able to scroll transcripts and scrub the recording to match would be awesome.
Also (sorry to pile on) I don’t have transcripts for most of my podcasts because they’re private feeds from memberships.

Getting the transcripts and audio to sync while chaning the playback position is a feature that has been requested in the past. I’ve added your vote for this feature too. Thanks for using the app!
