Episodes marked as played with 30 or more minutes remaining

I sometimes have an issue where an episode is marked as played if I pause in the middle. When I go to resume the episode later, it’s no longer in Up Next. When I look in my listening history, I see the episode marked as played.
The issue might be related to the sleep timer. Yesterday, I was listening to an episode and set the sleep timer to “end of episode.” But I decided to finish later, so I paused the episode with about 35 minutes left. Today, I found that the episode was not in Up Next and had been marked as played. The Podcast was The Cure for Chronic Pain, S1 Ep138: Episode 138 – REAL TIME HEAL.I’m using an iPhone 16 Pro Max on iOS 18.2. and PocketCasts app version 7.78.2 (the current version as of this post).

Based on what you shared, I agree it might be that sleep timer wasn’t paused correctly, thus ending the episode. We haven’t run into this issue on our end, however, so we’d like to get more information from you.
It would be best for you to contact us from your mobile immediately after you replicate the issue again. When you do that, you will also be sending your app logs with us. You can reach out through the Pocket Casts app — Profile > Help & Feedback > Get in touch.
It would be helpful if you could note the title of the episode you were listening to and at approximately what time, so we can correlate it with the information from the logs. You can use this forum thread as a reference in your message.We’ll be on the lookout!

Thanks for the response. I just had the issue happen again but this time I did not have the sleep timer enabled and I was less than five minutes into an hour long podcast. I submitted a support ticket via the app per your instructions with the logs included. I just realized however that I did not reference this form thread in the Support ticket. Here is what I put in the ticket:
”I started listening to a podcast episode this morning and paused it. When I went to resume this afternoon, it was no longer in my Up Next queue. I was less than five minutes into the episode which is over an hour long. I did not have the sleep timer enabled. The podcast is The Cure for Chronic Pain with Nicole Sachs, LCSW, S3 Ep93: The Emotional Root Of Chronic Conditions & How To Become Pain Free with Elizabeth Endres. I am using an iPhone 16 Pro Max on iOS 18.2.1. With the latest version of the Pocket Casts app (7.79.1).”
