Episodes not being added to a filter
-
We had the following reported to us via email:
I have tried so many times to reinstall your app because it stopped showing any new podcast releases in the “New” tab. It has done this once before on my iPhone and iPad and I waited about a week and tried reinstalling. It worked a few days and now it is showing 0 new podcasts in the “new” feed.
This is quite a common question we get, and it is worth breaking this down a bit. I will explain how to debug an issue with ‘New Releases’ not showing up.
The first thing to note is that ‘Filters’ sync to your Pocket Casts account, so even if you reinstall, that will not adjust the filter settings.
The next thing you can check is whether any of your podcast subscriptions had any new releases. You can do this by going to the podcasts page and checking a few of the podcasts which normally post regularly.
If you are seeing new episodes on the actual podcasts page but they aren’t on your ‘New Releases’ filter, you will need to check your actual filter settings. It is most likely that something is configured wrong in this area.
You can check this by clicking the small arrow next to the filter name (1), and then checking each filter option (2):
Most commonly, it could be the episode release date is set to something to too quick which results in the episodes not showing up as a new release.
If you’ve checked the above and the issue persists, please comment below with additional information!

I have a filter for all episodes – the only criteria is it’s an episode from all of my podcasts – but it’s not actually showing all current (not played or archived) episodes

@seanlongoria can you confirm with us how many episodes are currently listed for that filter?
Additionally, let us know your device information, OS, and when you first noticed this happening.
