Episodes of one specific podcast are auto archiving before they’re finished

This is only happening with one podcast, that I’ve noticed. If I close or minimize the app while the episode is paused, many times it will archive the episode even though I’m not done with it. I’m subscribed to many podcasts, but this only happens to one. It’s getting very annoying.

@corianderspam can you confirm with us if this also happens when you download the episodes from this specific podcast?
Also, how long do you leave the episode paused when this happens?

@staff-joey8 I almost exclusively listen to downloaded episodes, I rarely stream them.
The length of pause varies, anywhere from few minutes to 24 hours. I can’t find any kind of pattern to how long the episode is paused for. It happens more often than not. Recently I paused an episode when leaving my car and locked my phone to go inside my home, and when I unlocked my phone the episode had been archived. It feels so random.

@corianderspam Since this only seems to affect one specific podcast, can you check the settings for that podcast (tap the cog icon on the podcast page) and see what Auto archive settings it has? Try setting all of its Auto archive settings to ‘Never’ and see if the issue still occurs.
If it doesn’t help, you could try unfollowing and refollowing the podcast to see if it makes a difference.

@staff-donnie, I just want to chime in and say I’m having this exact same issue. The podcast is darknet diaries if that matters. I have not tried unfollowing and refollowing because I really don’t want to lose the play history. It does seem to resolve if I turn off auto-archive at the app level, but I’d rather not have to do that. It is 100% set to never at the podcast level and it will still happen.

@5dhqbc5mby turning off auto-archive at the app level didn’t work for me. I uninstalled the app and that worked, but I can understand why you wouldn’t want to do that. Fixing everything was a pain.
For me, the podcast is Reading Glasses.

Do you recall if you may have migrated from an old to a new device recently? Or if you used any phone migration tools recently?
Also, for how long has this issue happened? Did it start after any specific update?
