Episodes stuck in my downloads
-
I have the same problem with hiding archived podcasts in Profile/Podcasts. I can go to Settings/General/Show Archived and set it to Hide, but Archived items still Show as dimmed in the Downloads list.

@kendenniston Thanks for confirming.
As pointed out here, we’re working on a fix and aiming to release it soon. Please keep an eye out for the update in the Play Store.

We want to inform everyone following this thread that the issue affecting episode downloads in the Pocket Casts Android app has been resolved.
If you were experiencing problems such as being unable to remove played downloads, clear your download list, or retry failed downloads, these have been fixed in version 7.92.1
Please update to the latest version of the app to restore full functionality.
(Note: If you still see archived episodes in your Downloads list, please try restarting your device.).
If you still have trouble after updating, please reply here with further details.
Thank you all for your patience! -
Having followed the steps above, this doesn’t rectify the problem for me initially. The shadowed items remain in Downloads.
However, if I click into each item individually and click Archive, it then disappears from Downloads. This is time consuming and remains necessary moving forward to remove the unwanted clutter from this list. Clicking Mark Played means the item remains shadowed in Downloads.
Is there any possibility of this issue being resolved definitively? Also, with the necessity to now archive everything to avoid a cluttered Downloads list, could you tell me how I access the list of archived items so I can clear it?

Hi @posttokev – Can you confirm whether you tried restarting your device? We heard from other users that the archived episodes were removed from Downloads after a restart.

Thanks @posttokev – We definitely want to get this resolved, but so far we haven’t been able to reproduce the issue on the latest app version. Would you be able to send us your app logs so we can investigate further? https://support.pocketcasts.com/knowledge-base/collecting-app-logs/
Also if you could link to a screen recording demonstrating the issue that would be a big help. Thanks!

Hi Eleanor. Thanks for following up. I have replied to your mail with the logs and screen recording.

Just to update, following my conversations on email with Support…
It seems that ‘Auto Archive/Played Episodes After Playing’ had become disabled. (Possibly after an update?) Enabling it has resolved the issue and my Downloads list is now free of clutter.
