For anyone else having this issue, look into the app Simple Wear. It has a media controller function and works great with Pocket Casts and is better than the stock Wear OS media controller. I tried other podcast apps, including YouTube Music, and had the same issue. This may be a problem with Wear OS and not pocket casts

I shall have to check out this app @nickbelle9 but as you know I think we are all looking for the same functionality as the Apple watch version. Speaking for myself often times before I leave for work I like to get on the watch and see what podcasts have dropped and queue them for playback.
Just hoping we are closer to this being implemented.

I noticed there was yet another big update to Pocket Casts that did not include player controls on the Android Wear app. Now there are ads in the app that require a $40 per year subscription. I actually paid the fee last year when I saw the player controls on the app screenshot and figured out that it does not control the phone app so I refunded the app with that explanation. I and several of your app users would happily pay the fee to have this feature. It is clear that you have no intention of including this feature since there is a long list of users requesting this feature and still it has not been added for the past two years. Make the app something worth paying for and people will be happy to support you. I suspect if the price was more reasonable you will find that more people would be willing to pay for it and you would make more money. I saw the thread from several users that already purchased the app (I purchased the app in 2015) only to be discluded from the subscription. This is just shameful. It looks like it is time to look for another podcast client. Does anyone know which clients include player controls on Android Wear?
