Feature request: auto queue old episodes

I listen to a podcast that releases episodes every day. It’s been running for several years and I started at the beginning, since each one builds on the one before, so the episodes I’m listening to now are a few years old. There are several other podcasts that I listen to as well that release episodes much less often. The order of those doesn’t matter, I have those ones set to auto queue.
Currently, from time to time, I go into the daily podcast and add a bunch to the queue. Then go to my queue and move them between the others that have been added automatically. I’d like to have 2 or 3 if the daily ones (since they’re short) and then one of the others. This takes time and is error prone. It’s easy to mix up the order of the daily.
I’d like the ability to time-shift the old daily podcast. So that one (or optionally, multiple) episode is(are) automatically added to my queue every day. So that my queue has a mix of podcast episodes without the need to manually add episodes and mix them with the others that are automatically added.

I just want to make sure I understand your request. Are you saying you want an option to automatically position episodes in your queue according to certain criteria?

i guess that would be the end result. It’s hard to imagine how that would be configured though.
i think what I want is, for a podcast, I want to select:
- a starting point, either by date or specific episode
- a frequency (like every number of hours/days, weeks, etc.)
- a number of episodes.
And have that number of episodes auto queued every day/week/etc., from where ever I started.
it would be like a little program/job that will run on the frequency I choose and it would select the number of episodes I want. Starting from the start point and ignoring any that have already been played and auto queue them.
If a podcast is releasing new episodes today then I could just set them to auto queue. I want an old podcast to auto queue as if it was being published today. But since it is old, I can choose the “publish” frequency. I am able to add them to the queue at a faster rate then when they were originally released.
Hopefully I explained that clearly, let me know if it’s still unclear.
