Feature Request: Automated File Uploads
-
I’d like to request a way to automate file uploads to Pocket Casts, so that files can be added without needing manual input.
Currently, uploading a file requires opening the Pocket Casts desktop app or website and either:
1. Dragging and dropping a file into the Pocket Casts window, or
2. Going to the “Files” page and clicking “Upload New.”
It would be extremely helpful to have a more automation-friendly option—such as a macOS Shortcuts action, shell script, Python script, AppleScript, Automator workflow, or a user-accessible API—to upload files directly to Pocket Casts.
If anyone knows of an existing way to do this, please let me know. Otherwise, I’d love to see this feature added. Thanks!

I use an app to record several live radio shows/podcasts on my computer each day. The only step of the process I have to do manually is upload the recorded MP3s to Pocket Casts. I would love a way to automate this as well, so the recordings automatically show up in Pocket Casts when they’re ready.

Hi @aesterling!
We appreciate your detailed explanation of the current upload process and the benefits of automation.
We’ve already logged your feature request in a forum thread here: https://forums.pocketcasts.com/forums/topic/siri-shortcuts-for-added-files/?view=all#post-4676

Thanks, @staff-frank :) I searched the forum before creating this thread and found the request that you linked to. However, that request is for a shortcut to play an uploaded file, not a shortcut to upload a file. Since they are different functions, I thought it was worthwhile to create this separate feature request for the upload functionality. I commented in both places in hopes that it will be added. Thanks again.
