Feature request: Automatically skip if download failed
-
Hey, i use Pocket Casts every day, but one thing is really, really annoying.
I only download Podcasts when on WiFi, which should be a pretty normal thing to do unless you have a massive data plan and don’t care about mobile downloads. My Podcast phone doesn’t even have a SIM-Card, it’s pretty much only an old phone i use solely for podcasts.
Whenever i leave the house and the phone – for some reason – was just downloading a podcast and couldn’t finish it, because it lost it’s WiFi-Connection, and the “failed download podcast” comes up in the queue, there is just silence and i have to skip it manually, which can be quite annoying if you are for example riding a bike.
Could you please, please add a simple feature to automatically skip “failed download” Podcasts? I don’t think that there is a single person who prefers it that the Podcast player just gets stuck in silence, that doesn’t make any sense for anyone, at least for any situation i can think about.

Thanks for reaching out!
I’ve gone ahead and forwarded this along to our developers as a feature request. I can’t offer an estimated timeframe or confirmation that it will be implemented, but our developers regularly review feature requests when considering future development. :)

I also have this request. Its annoying when commuting to work by bicycle where I don’t have the phone at hand when the playback stops because of a new episode which is not downloaded…

Hi.
This might be a similar feature.. When I’m running I listen via the apple watch app.
If an episode I’m listening to hasn’t completely downloaded it will stop and I have to open the watch app to select another episode. Would be handy if it flicked to the next one, but didn’t mark as played.Maybe a nice to have!?
Cheers all
