Feature Request: Manually assign season and episode numbers to episodes

  Some of my favourite podcasts give their episodes season and episode numbers… and sometimes they make mistakes. It would be nice to correct those mistakes locally so at the very least my version of the feed can have items grouped and sorted “properly”.

  Stretch goal: Add the ability to assign selected episodes to a season in bulk. Select eight episodes, select “Assign to Season”, and then select (or type “3”) and have them be added.

  Stretch goal: Add the ability to assign episode numbers to selected items in bulk chronologically (or by sorting?), so I could select eight episodes, select “Assign Episode Numbers in Order”, and be asked “Starting from:” and then type an integer and have the selected episodes be numbered.

  Of course, the ability to remove manual season/episode assignments too and go back to the feed’s values.

  @joshhoey, just wanted to get back to you on this one. Have you already tried grouping episodes by Season? If you haven’t already, that might work better for you.

  You can change the episode grouping for a podcast by going to the podcast’s page in the app and clicking the three-dot icon to the right of the search bar. Then, click “Group episodes” and select “Season.”

  Hello! I’ve been group by Season for a while now, and it’s when I group by season that it shows the mistakes in the episodes on the feeds I listen to; If they haven’t set their episodes up properly, then sorting by Season doesn’t work nicely. For example, say a podcast has eight episodes in Season 5, but they accidentally didn’t assign the season (or episode number) to an episode, then only seven episodes will show up in in Season 5, and the misfiled episode shows up under “No Season”. My feature request is to give us a way to fix that.

  Thanks for explaining @joshhoey! We show exactly what the share with us for the feed to ensure we have the most accurate information in the app. We’re not able to correct feed information on behalf of authors. We’d have no way to know if the episode was left out intentionally or not from our end.
