Feature Request: “playback time remaining” based on listening speed
-
Hi,
I was hoping to put a feature request on the pile if I may –
Could we get an option to see the playback time remaining for a current episode in real terms based on the playback speed?
For example – if I have 14 minutes left of a podcast in ‘recorded’ terms, but I’m playing back at 1.4x speed, this feature would show playback time remaining as 10 minutes as that’s how long it’ll take me to play that 14 minutes in real terms (I think, assuming I’m not messing up the maths here!)
This would be hugely useful for me on the commute for example – Android Auto shows how long it’ll take me to drive to work, so it’d be handy to compare and see if I’ve got enough time to listen to the episode before I arrive.
Some other folk have requested this on Reddit here so I think it would be of interest to a number of users:

Thanks!

Hi @jamiewightwick,
Sure thing, I’ve added your feature request to our internal issue tracker :)

Super–I was going to add this one myself, but it’s already done, and being tracked by the devs! Huzzah!

+1 from me. Bonus points if it respects Podcast-specific playback speeds where applicable.
