Feature request: pull to refresh
-
Hello,
I want to make the following suggestion: On each podcast individual page, enable pull to refresh and update the podcast. It would be very useful. This option could be in this page, for example:

Hi! Thank you for sharing your feature request. I’ve gone ahead and added a vote on your behalf to our internal list of feature requests.

YES!!! I am a developer working for a podcast network and need to test podcast feeds. As a result, I use a different app which lets me refresh feeds manually. If I make a change to our feeds, I can’t wait around and wonder if it’s updated or not in Pocket Casts. For me as well, this is literally the ONLY FEATURE that prevents me from using Pocket Casts as my primary podcast app.
Add a vote from me too.

For me it’s because I have some private podcast feeds (Patreon, etc), and I find it super-annoying to get a notification elsewhere that the new episode is out and then having to wait an unknowable length of time before it’s actually available to listen to. Being able to force a refresh lets me bypass that.

@joshhoey There’s two different kinds of refresh. There’s “asking PocketCasts to check its own server for whether there’s new episodes it already knows about” and there’s “asking PocketCast’s server to go check for new episodes”. As of the last time I was using PocketCasts, pull-to-refresh on the main feed only did the first one. This request is for a way to poke the PocketCast server into going out and fetching new episodes from a feed.

Thank you to everyone chiming in with their thoughts on this! I’ve added your comments to the existing feature request!
