Feature request: remember where I was on the episode list

Sometimes I’m only interested in some episodes of the podcast. Sometimes I already listened to free episodes (in another app), then I paid for the podcast and wish to go through paid content sequentially but it’s mixed with the other 300 episodes.

So every time I start an episode, I have to remember the episode number I was at, then scroll from episode 300 to episode 100 or something, then start scrolling up again until I see an interesting episode, or a paid episode I haven’t heard.

It would be very nice to have some way to scroll the list to whatever episode I listened to last time. Or make the episode list remember where I was, and show me that location by default.

This could be a button in the episode view, an action in the three dot menu, or perhaps a general or per-podcast setting:

“Remember where I was on the episode list”.

Or, maybe, just make this the default, at least in some cases? I find it a bit disappointing that even if I just look at the Filters tab and flick back to the Podcast tab, the episode list resets to wherever I was not.

If the last episode I listened to was number 100, I’d like the episode list to show me that place whenever I open it again.

  • Thank you for your suggestion!

It sounds like a very useful feature, especially for users who regularly listen to podcasts with many episodes. I will pass on your feedback to the Pocket Casts team.

In the meantime, you may want to try creating custom episode filters based on your listening preferences to make it easier to find the episodes you want to listen to. I understand if that might not be something that you’re looking for, but hopefully, it helps.
