Feature Request: Tesla App
-
Count me in! While there are a lot of podcast solutions for Teslas now, none of the existing ones are all that good, so I just use a bluetooth connection in the car. I’d really love to just have access to Pocket Casts natively in the car.

@staff-dexter, @staff-bluejay, @staff-reid, @mikerockwell, @staff-joey8, @staff-fred, @staff-cara It will soon be a year since people have been writing to count them too. During all this time, everyone has to use an alternative:
- another application like Spotify, which cannot track progress on multiple devices correctly, cannot hide listened podcasts on the list and is made perfectly, but for listening to music, not podcasts.
- or the PocketCast application connected via Bluetooth, but then the usability of the big touch screen in Tesla drops to zero and somehow reduces driving safety.
Is there anything we could do to make a version for Tesla appear?
I would be very happy to recommend PocketCast to every Tesla user, looking at how weak the competition is, it could help promote the application.
I would be happy to pay for a feature like this. Have you considered crowdfunding this app? -
Hi @drymek,
Thanks for your feedback and enthusiasm for Pocket Casts! We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and suggestions.
We understand your desire for a dedicated Pocket Casts experience on Tesla vehicles. We’ve added your suggestion to our internal feature request board. While we can’t provide a specific timeline for when or if this feature might be implemented, your feedback is valuable in helping us prioritize future development efforts.

an extra vote for this for me please too. Due to collect a Tesla in a few days and I’ve been using pocket casts for my podcasts for years

Please add another vote for me. I love the pocket casts app and would love some sort of Tesla interface besides bluetooth.

Was considering a Tesla. Went with Polestar 4. Pocket Casts really well implemented in that. As is it in Android Auto which is why I moved to Pocket Casts in the first place.
I reckon the barriers are on Tesla’s side and not Pockets Casts which clearly has fantastic devs.

As an aside to this request to the devs – Current Tesla implementations for podcasts seem to not support custom RSS feeds for subscription based podcasts. If that was implemented with a Tesla app it would also add missing functionality.

Thanks for the great feedback, @adamdewilde. Our devs will look into that
@eddablin awesome stuff – we’re so glad to hear that you are enjoying our Android Automotive app :)

Please add my +1 for a Tesla app! I’ve been using PocketCasts for almost 8 years but am painfully contemplating switching just to have a good native Tesla app. This would be a huge win for users and can even make it a Plus feature!

FWIW I will immediately subscribe to Plus whenever PocketCasts becomes available in Teslas. It would be well worth the cost IMO.
I’m sure I’m not alone in this.
