Features: 👍👎 + ‘listened to this podcast on…’

  I listen to a lottttt of podcasts. And many on the same topic with similar titles and artwork. It’s hard to keep track of which podcasts I’ve already tried unless I subscribe to them all and put them in folders. There are two features I would love to see in the ‘Discover’ tab:

  1. Tell me if I’ve previously listened to (any portion of) a podcast. Maybe I started an episode, maybe I finished the whole podcast. Without clicking into it, I’d like a badge across it that says ‘previously listened’ or ‘last listened to this podcast on Jan 1, 2025’ or even just see it slightly greyed out to indicate it’s not the first time I’ve listened to it. NOTE: It’s not helpful to know if I’ve clicked in to read the details of the podcast before, only if I’ve listened to any of it before.
  2. Allow me to give a private thumbs up or down to a podcast, not as a public rating, just for my own feed. Reason: I’m always on the lookout for new aviation-related podcasts but there are a bunch with similar names, some I don’t enjoy. Right now I subscribe to them all and save the ones I don’t like in a “Don’t Listen” folder so I don’t excitedly stumble on them again when browsing.
     
     I don’t want or need a Netflix-style algorithm feeding me suggested content, but I’d like an easy way to see if I’ve previously tried and liked/not a podcast without cluttering my profile, homescreen, and app’s storage by subscribing to a bunch unnecessarily.

  +1, this would be EXTREMELY HELPFUL for podcast discovery. I listen to an episode or two to decide if I like a podcast, and unsubscribe the ones I didn’t like… but then don’t have any way to keep track of those when searching for new podcasts.

  +1. Love this idea as I re-listened to fav episodes from 5 years ago and designate the star tag for that. Would be good to have thumbs up as another option.
