Fraudulent Job Offers
-
We’ve recently learned that some people have been contacted by scammers pretending to be part of the Pocket Casts hiring team, using names like “Emily Hicks” or “Marilyn Shaver”. Please know that these individuals are not connected to Pocket Casts or Automattic.
Our hiring process happens only through Automattic’s official careers page: https://automattic.com/work-with-us/.
You’ll always receive hiring-related messages from us using an @automattic.com email address. Other communication from us may also come from @pocketcasts.com email address.
If someone reaches out claiming to be from Pocket Casts or Automattic but uses a different email domain, take a moment to verify their identity. Scams like these can look very real, so it’s always okay to double-check!
Here’s a helpful guide offering more tips on how to spot and avoid scams: https://consumer.ftc.gov/consumer-alerts/2023/08/scammers-impersonate-well-known-companies-recruit-fake-jobs-linkedin-and-other-job-platforms.
Stay safe out there, everyone!
