Future-proof Clips when the episode changes by saving the audio file?

Hello! The new Clips feature is nice, but unfortunately the clips that we share become broken as soon as the underlying episode changes, usually with dynamic ads. I sent a clip to a friend a few weeks ago, and it made no sense to her even one day later because changed ads meant the seconds that I’d chosen to share had changed.

When we create a clip, it would be nice to be able to generate a static audio file in our personal Pocket Casts storage, and be able to share it to others. We can currently save a file to storage with the “Create audio file” option and sending the file to Pocket Casts, but we can’t share it.

Podcasts with dynamic ads can play differently for different listeners, not only if the ads have changed over time, but because different ads will be served to different users based on geolocation or other factors

  • I understand how this could be really frustrating and we sincerely appreciate your feedback. We’ve made a note of your suggestion and are adding it to the customer feedback we’re receiving. Thanks!
