Garmin app on roadmap

Hi @vincentcleymans603e99c924,
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on this feature request. I can confirm that your vote has been recorded. -
Sorry if this is a too late @geekygecko, but if you’re getting the watch primarily for running, I’d recommend one in the Forerunner series. Specifically, 255 and up. Fenix is the “do everything” line and I have a Fenix 6S Pro Solar. I mostly use mine for running and hiking. If you plan to use it for hikes, the mapping + navigation features are really useful. I don’t think a non-solar model is a deal breaker as it doesn’t add charge to the watch and merely just slows the battery drain rate a little. This is really only useful if you are doing some long hikes/runs outdoors. I had a Vivoactive 3 Music for a long time, and it was a nice upgrade from a Fitbit for tracking my runs, but once I started doing more hikes, I really wanted the maps and navigation features, so I nabbed a Fenix 6S Pro Solar with a 20% off coupon from my previous company’s healthcare incentive program. To help you decide, DC Rainmaker does some really in-depth reviews.
As for which model(s) to shoot for for the app, I’d recommend the Fenix line (6 and 7. I believe this will cover the Epix line as well), Forerunner 255 and up, Venu 3 and up, and Vivoactive 5 and up (Garmin seems to not be selling the 4 anymore). I would also maybe see if you can find some “what Garmin do you have” type polls. The Venu and Vivoactive are cheaper, so probably more users, but at the same time I feel like the people that choose Garmins over something like an Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy Watch are a bit more in the “enthusiast” category and could tend to lean towards the more expensive/higher end models like the Fenix line and Forerunner 955/965.

Hi @quicklyjoviald8b9fa8fc7,
Thank you for your vote. I have passed it along to the team. -
One more request!
I am currenly using playrun on my Garmin, but it’s a hassle to create playlists on both playrun and Pocket Casts (and check/sync played episodes). Would be nice to have a native Pocket Casts app, or base it on/integrate with the playrun app.

@enthusiasticallyzealousc09a2d9e4a, thank you! I’ve added your comments to the feature request as well!

+1 for me please, let’s make this happen so everyone enjoys pocketcast while exercising with garmin too

+1 for a Garmin app. Spotify does not sync played episodes or time played. I am not aware if this is a limitation of Garmin development or Spotify being Spotify. I have been using Pocket Casts since the very beginning. I would love to have it on my Garmin and not fiddle with Spotify for podcasts. I use a Forerunner 955.

+1 please. Love both Pocket Cast (long time subscriber) and my Garmin Fenix 6 Pro. Would really love them to work together. Any update on timeline? Looks like a lot of interest.
While the garment smart watch user base is only about 60% of the size of the wear OS user base. I think it’s safe to say that the users are likely more active with you. With their devices and have a greater need for views on the go. I think you would probably also find let garmin, users keep their watches longer. And therefore active use time is even greater by comparison.

Thanks for your vote @digs777!
We don’t have an exact timeline, but we’re certainly gathering interest. As you may already know, our developers consider features for every release based on the number of requests we receive for them. If more Pocket Casts users also request this feature, it increases the chance of it being built. Thanks again!
