Google play asking to increase renewal price from €10.99 to €44.99

Hi,
I have been a subscriber to Pocket Casts Plus going on 3 years now (have been a user since around 2015/2016) and the information available is that the supposed price for new subscribers wouldn’t apply to current subscribers. However Google play keeps sending notifications to agree to increase the price from 10.99€ to 44.99€. This price increase is absurd. I only use pocket casts on my phone, I download to my phone what I want to listen, so I couldn’t care less for desktop support or cloud storage.
The price increase set at the start of the year of 14.99€ although step as well, is understable. Now 44.99€???
Please assist me with this. Otherwise I will cancel the subscription and start using Spotify since I’m already paying for it as well. Does the same Pocket Casts does, although with way worse interface. But again, better interface is never worth going from 10.99 to 44.99 in just one year.

So because I didn’t agree to the change in price, Google play canceled the subscription (it should have renewed today 11 Nov). I suppose I’ll continue to use the free version. As I said, I’m not a new subscriber, makes no sense to have a price increase from 10.99 to 40.99.
