Having trouble downloading without wifi
-
Hi there, I’ve been using your app for quite a while and I really love it.. but recently I’ve been having problems when I’m not connected to the wifi. But it only seems to happen with one particular podcast.
i checked and all data usage is available and unlimited (also, it was working until a couple weeks ago). But now, every time a new ep shows up, it doesn’t download it or even buffers it to listen. It’s like it’s corrupted, but when I get to a wifi it works just fine. Other podcasts don’t have the same issue, they download and buffer just fine.
This is the podcast: https://pca.st/podcast/ee3841c0-1f0f-0135-52f8-452518e2d253
thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, @italianangel86! To start, can you please share the following information?
- The OS version on your device – you can usually find this from your phone’s Settings
- Your Pocket Casts app version – you can see this from the Pocket Casts app’s Profile > Settings (gear icon) > About
In addition, I suspect that your mobile network might be blocking one of the services used by the podcast in question. To illustrate, here’s the source file for one of the episodes:
As you can see, there’s a bunch of redirects happening there—clrtpod, podtrac, mgln.ai, and so on. Any one of those could be blocked by your mobile network. Can you also test accessing that link while on mobile data and let us know what happens?

Hi @staff-cara, sorry I took so long responding, some family issues arose and had me occupied.
I think you’re right and the redirects are the problem, lately my wifi doesn’t download either and my cell and wifi are the same provider. I guess there is no real solution since I cannot manage any “inside” configurations. I’ll try contacting the podcast crew, they are very accessible, maybe they can change the way the links are generated.
thanks so much anyways

@italianangel86 Contacting either the podcast author, or your network provider is probably the best bet in this case. Hopefully one of them can help you resolve this issue.
