Hide Archived episodes in CarPlay?
-
I archive episodes I don’t care about and those disappear as desired from the app, but they still show up in CarPlay. Since you’re limited to just a few number of items when scrolling while the car is in motion, that just makes it more difficult to play from the curated list. Is there any way to have the CarPlay app also hide the archived episodes?

Hi @mw2p9v5q5n!
Archived episodes should not appear on CarPlay. Could you please give us more details? What device are you using? Are you connected through cable or Wi-Fi?

Hi, sorry for not responding earlier. I don’t think I ever got the notification. I’m connected via usb to CarPlay in our Toyota. To clarify too, I’m not talking about listened to episodes, but archived ones and in particular the ones I’m swiping left on.

Hi @mw2p9v5q5n,
Thank you for that information! Let me consult our team and get back to you on this.

Hi @mw2p9v5q5n,
Would you specify what device are you using (e.g., iPhone 14 max)? That’ll help us troubleshooting further.

For some reason, I never seem to get the forum update emails. I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max. I’ve updated to iOS 18, but now I can’t remember if this is fixed or not. Gotta try it.

Thanks for that information, @mw2p9v5q5n. I’ve forwarded those to our team to see if there’s any known issue with archived episodes displaying via CarPlay. We’ll get back to you when we have more information.

@mw2p9v5q5n Can you please check if the forum notifications are maybe landing in your spam/junk inbox? If so, please mark them as “not spam” so that future notifications land in your main inbox.
As for the issue with archived episodes showing up in CarPlay, since both the Pocket Casts app and iOS have had multiple updates since your first report, can you please confirm whether the issue persists for you? If the issue persists, we’ll definitely want to investigate further.
