How to stop auto archive

I’m running the current version of pocketcasts for Android, and have been using pocketcasts for several years. I’m currently workibg my way through older episodes of a particular podcast (currently around 2018). Basically, I am downloading a “season” at a time, listening to it, and then moving on to the next season.
I’m recently seeing an issue where episodes are auto archiving as soon as I download them. I have already set both that podcast and the app itself to not auto archive shows based on how old they are. But they keep auto archiving anyway, which means they don’t show up in my filter for that podcast, and are listed as archive when I look at that particular podcast. What am I doing wrong?

Some additional questions:
- Have you listened to those episodes previously under the same Pocket Casts account?
- Were those episodes marked as played when you downloaded them?
- Do you mind sending us a screenshot of the auto-archive configuration for that podcast?
