Intelligent Playback Resumption rewinding too far

I noticed today that when I pause my podcasts for more than five or so minutes, they are jumping backwards much further than usual. Before, it was about 30 seconds, but recently, it’s going back multiple minutes.

  • Hi, @katiewhalen42! To start, can you please share the following information with me?

    • The OS version on your device – you can usually find this from your phone’s Settings
    • Your Pocket Casts app version – you can see this from the Pocket Casts app’s Profile > Settings (gear icon) > About

In addition, when pausing/resuming playback, are you maybe using controls on an external device like a Bluetooth headset?

same here, happend in iOS 17.4.1, PocketCasts v 7.61.0.5, and this was the podcast episode: https://pca.st/6djx2rix

jumped back around 20-30 minutes. Stopped listening in the middle of the episode (around 3 hours in) and continued next day. I usually listen on 1.4 speed.

Happened more often in the last days in this podcast (other episodes) but this one was really strange…

  • @vampyropoda this could likely be due to a different issue. Does that persist if you disable the ‘Intelligent Playback Resumption’ feature?

Also, if you are streaming, it is possible that something on the file caused this to happen. Does it happen when you download and listen to those episodes too?
