Is it possible to transfer podcasts episodes from iPhone A to iPhone B ?
-
Hi there,
I recently got a new iPhone and installed it using the previous one as a basis, using Apple’s process.
As you know, it’s now all about downloading things again, apps, podcasts, etc.
So every app or podcast that can’t be dowloaded again right now is lost.
My question is: is there a way to transfer the files I still have on my previous iPhone to the new one, in Pocket Casts?
Thank you for your help! -
@altered98c8bef761 this is a great question!
When you move to a new device, make sure that your old device is logged into a Pocket Casts account, then log into the same Pocket Casts account on your new device.
All of your podcast subscriptions, folders, filters, etc will then be available on the new device. However, your custom settings and downloads will not migrate over.
With regards to downloads, if the episodes can no longer be downloaded (no longer on the RSS Feed) but you still have them stored on your old device, you can use the process here to export them from the old device and upload them to Pocket Casts Cloud: https://support.pocketcasts.com/knowledge-base/how-to-export-my-downloads-and-upload-them-to-pocket-casts-cloud/

Thank you for your feedback.
Well, it’s been a little painful. I thought I had to subscribe to Pocket Casts Plus, which actually created a real mess on my new iPhone’s playlists. Hard to predict when you don’t know how it works. Then I disconnected from my new PC+ account, and cleaned everything up. And finally understood how to upload episodes to iCloud Drive. That’s how I got them to my Mac, which gives me a few options about how I can use them again. Better than nothing.
I wish I could have selected several episodes before sending them to iCloud, quite a repetitive experience :-)
Maybe I would have liked the Mac app to be able to connect to my previous phone, import the episodes in their native format, and then add them again to my new iPhone, in the right place. But it seems that’s not what the Mac app is made for.
Thank you again, took me a lot of time, but at least this let me keep these episodes. Which is great news to me.
